Held at the Farmers & Fletchers Hall from 11am to 4pm on 4th October, this annual debating competition offers young agriculturalists the opportunity to gain invaluable experience by putting their views to industry leaders and the wider world, develop their communication skills and win impressive prizes.

The Princess Royal will be presenting the prizes as well as meeting the sixteen young agriculturalists taking part and the judges, who are Tom Heap, one of the BBC's Countryfile presenters, leading farmers Adrian Ivory and Guy Smith, and Charlotte Flint, a Newcastle University student who was a member of last year's winning team.

The Princess Royal is a past Master of The Worshipful Company of Farmers who are the principal sponsors of Young Advocates for Agriculture. Other sponsors include The Oxford Farming Conference, who will be selecting two debaters to act as seconds in their own debate at the conference in January, and Dow AgroSciences, one of the world's leading research-based agricultural science companies.
