Tom Heap Chairman of Judges
Tom HeapTom has recently joined the regular presenting team on Countryfile as the 'face' of the investigations - the more journalistic element of the show. He presents BBC Radio 4's Environment series, Costing the Earth and is a regular reporter on Panorama specialising in Farming and Environment stories. He writes opinion columns and book reviews for the BBC science magazine Focus. He has been involved with Young Advocates for Agriculture for the last two years.
Adrian Ivory
Adrian IvoryAdrian Ivory is farm manager on behalf of the Ivory family's Strathisla Farms in Meigle, Perthshire. A past Farmer of the Year, Adrian manages the 2285 acre farm, which consists of pedigree Simmental and Charolais beef cattle, a commercial beef enterprise and arable land. Adrian has grown Strathisla Farms rapidly in the last 10 years into the profitable business it is now. He believes strict budgeting and careful planning is the key to a profitable agricultural enterprise without a reliance on subsidies.

Adrian is highly proactive in industry groups and links with retailers. He is the youngest person to sit on a Sainsbury's steering group, was one of McDonald's first 'Scout with a Clout' farmers and has been chosen for the SAC leadership programme. He now works closely alongside Asda and meat processors ABP and took part in Asda's highly successful Christmas TV marketing campaign. He is very committed to ensuring a sustainable business for the next generation and actively encourages people to visit Strathisla to share his vision.
Guy Smith
Guy SmithGuy Smith comes from a mixed farm situated on the north-east Essex coast. Farming on the Essex riviera has allowed the farm business to diversify into golf parks, fishing lakes and airstrip as well as a farm shop. The farm has been recognised for its good conservation practice and has won prizes in national competitions for its top quality milling wheat. Away from the farm Guy is Secretary of Farming in the Park, a Director of the Tendring Show and the founder/Chairman of the Essex Food and Farming Schools Day, He sits on the council of the NFU, is a trustee of the charity FACE, sits on the Board of the HGCA and is Chair of the Landskills East Leadership group. He scribbles a bit in the press and has won the 'Magazine' columnist of the year award. He has been awarded a silver medal from the RASE and an Honourary Doctorate from Essex University; both of these were in recognition of his work in improving the public understanding of agriculture.
